Fleet Foxes are a Seattle based band made of up of a 5 men team whose influences include gospel, hymns, folk, motown, baroque pop to country-rock.

They first hit the limelight in 2008 with the release of their second EP, Sun Giant, and their début full length album Fleet Foxes. Both albums received critical praise and reviewers often noted their use of refined lyrics and vocal harmonies.

Jazz musician Kenny G the past two decades established himself as the biggest-selling instrumental musician of the modern era, with global sales totalling more than 75 million albums, with 45 million albums sold in the U.S. alone.

He is also a Grammy winning saxophonist in fact he started out as saxophone soloist for Barry White’s Love Unlimited Orchestra in 1973 at the age of 17.

Since then he has collaborated with major star such as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and Frank Sinatra. For the past twenty years he has been a fixture in arenas, amphitheatres and concert halls and has performed for millions of people all over the world and now he will be at the Manchester Apollo on Tuesday 21st April 2009 – 7.30pm

Michael Ball in Bromsgrove is an Olivier Award winning English actor, singer, and radio and TV presenter who is best known for the song “Love Changes Everything” and various musical theatre roles such as Marius in Les Misérables, Alex in Aspects of Love, Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Edna Turnblad in Hairspray for which he won the 2008 Laurence Olivier Award for best actor in a musical.

He is also a gold- and platinum-selling artist and a thorough professional so with no doubt you will be full entertained at the Manchester Apollo on Saturday 3rd October 2009 – 7.30pm

The Bootleg Beatles a tribute band were formed in 1980 by the West End cast of the musical Beatlemania. They played their first gig in March 1980. What I find fascinating is that it took them 10 years before the got noticed in the UK, helped by Oasis who enabled them to support their act, which in turn threw them into the mainstream.

It certainly shows that determination and hard work can pull through. Today they have preformed more than 4000 concerts and have not looked back since. They were also the first Western rock band to tour the U.S.S.R and performed at Glastonbury.

Well in actual fact it is 2 nights Friday the 4th and Saturday 5th December!

Again a little like Abba Mania you can be sure of a great night the songs of Queen need no introduction but with Garry Mullen the winner of “Stars in their eyes” preforming as Freddie Mercury, you know he will capture the essence of the band.

The stage will be just as dynamic as if it was Queen themselves.

I have never been to the Ballet, but I have to say I like the story line of Giselle a mix of darkness and light. I think the National Ballet put it better;

Giselle is the ultimate Romantic ballet, a tale of innocence, betrayal and the redemptive power of true love. English National Ballet’s traditional staging of this 1841 masterpiece moves from the sunny optimism of Giselle’s idyllic village life to a ghostly, moonlit world of mystery and menace.

Giselle is in love with the handsome Duke Albrecht, but when she discovers that he has deceived her she dies of a broken heart. By Giselle’s grave in a mist-wreathed forest glade, vengeful spirits of abandoned brides force men to dance to their death. Giselle returns as a ghost, and her deep love for Albrecht saves him from his fate.

Adolphe Adam’s music, played by English National Ballet’s symphony orchestra, is an exquisite accompaniment to the thoroughly magical choreography.
