Riverdance is on their farewell tour celebrating their 15th aniversary. This amazing theatrical dance show which consists mainly of irish stepdancing and folk music.

The first time Riverdance came to us was at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest when they celebrated 50 shows. It was voted that it was the best interval act in the history of the contest. This first performance was danced by Michael Flatley who was the original coreographer and writer to Riverdance and other musical theatre like the amazing Lord of the Dance where he appeared as the Lord of the Dance. I remember watching Lord of the Dance at Home with my mouth wide open in awe, it is something to go and see even though Flatley isn’t in Riverdance anymore, onstage or off.

It’ll be a shame to see them go but lets hope that they do come back as many have come and gone.

Riverdance will be at the Palace Theatre from Monday 12th of April to Sunday 17th April 2010 and tickets are available from here.

After putting up so much mainstream here on Manchester Concert Live, it´s good to include something a little of the radar with Darren Styles with his Punk, Electronic and Dance mix or more official called British Hardcore.

Having built a reputation in this market since 1993 with various band he has now ventured on his own with his solo career which includes recent releases of Save Me, Getting Better, Come Running and Girls Like You.

Darren will be touring with Ultrabeat who have become one of the leading UK commercial dance artists with their first album in 2007 going gold and other tracks include Pretty Green Eyes, Feelin’ Fine, Elysium, Better Than Life and the biggest track of last summer, Discolights.

Darren and Ultrabeat will be in Manchester at the Apollo on Saturday 4th July 2009 – 7pm. Tickets are available from here.

This is my first post and I had to announce this group called eskimo smile. The reason for this is that one of the group members use to go to the same high school and theatre group as me. They are doing quite well they’ve also appeared on channel 4 and they’re allways have a good few concerts coming up. Their music is a nice blend of  dance, electro, rock, pop and metal music. I hope you like them.
