Ah another band that takes me back to my youth and a well deserved honour at the Brits for a lifetime achievement award.

For me it started with “West End Girls”, but what does stand out is that they have managed to be one of those consistent bands who have managed to sell over 50 million records world wide and have 39 top thirty singles, an awesome achievement by anyone’s standards.

Their success I am sure can be associated to their ability to create melodic pop/dance music with superb lyrics. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will be preforming at the Manchester Apollo on Thursday 18th June 2009 at 7pm and I am sure they will be introducing a few songs from their latest album Yes.

Again another great proformer that takes me back quite some time, when I bought his Oxygene album back in 1977.

These days I think he is more famous for his outdoor spectaculars particularly with fire works. Interestingly he in in the New Guinness book of records, when in 1977 he had the biggest concert ever with 305 million spectators during Moscow´s 850th anniversary.

So based on that it will undoubtedly be quite some spectacular when he comes to Manchester on the 23rd May at the MEN Arena. Tickets are available here.
